Born in Gothenburg, Sweden, Christina Persson has been passionate about drawing and creative work since childhood. Although she attended various evening classes and a short-term art education program, she is for the most part a self-taught artist.

Christina Persson has been a certified art teacher since 2013, achieving success with her classes in both Sweden and The Gambia. Her career also includes work as a children's book illustrator for a Swedish publisher, a role she held from 2014 onwards.

From 2019 to 2023, she expanded her reach by giving online workshops that connected with a worldwide audience.
Her personal journey profoundly influences her art. After first visiting The Gambia in 2012, she moved there permanently in 2016.

Traveling extensively throughout West Africa provided immense inspiration, contributing to her distinctive, vibrant, and often humorous style depicting local animals, people, and nature.
