Bandji Fall is a self-taught Impressionist / Abstract Artist, born in West Africa in the country of Senegal.

As a child he captured the attention of his primary school teachers and his peers, first with designs he created in the sand and then with drawings and paintings in the classroom. As a teenager he assisted his father, a metal welder and became a certified welder, a craft that enabled him to further explore and develop his artistic talents.

Moving from Senegal to the West African country of The Gambia in 1997, Bandji devoted himself entirely to his Art and captured second place in the country’s home coming Festival.

Financial circumstances precluded him from purchasing paints, brushes, canvas and other necessary items, forcing a temporary retreat from his craft.

With modest sponsorship in 2000 he reconstituted himself and was able to sell his paintings in the UK, France, Germany, Amsterdam and the United States. In Germany, alongside major International Artists and in a major Art Exhibition, he represented Gambia winning accolades for his unique style.

But it was in the US market that he found opportunities to expand his craft and gain major recognition.

Bandji’s work, has in certain instances been compared to the American Artist Jean-Michel Basquiat, who rose to success during the 1980s as part of the Neo-Expressionism movement.

Discerning collectors are now inquiring, as they once did with Basquiat, whose prices started at five figures and today command over eight for selected work.
